Having alighted at the Innereriz-Säge bus stop and in view of the Sieben Hengste, the route immediately heads uphill towards the Alp Trüschhübel. In the pass area of the Zulg’s and Emme’s catchment terrains we reach the Rotmoos: a beautiful, rugged and legend-steeped moorland which, even in winter, gives the appearance of a fairytale setting. After having passed through the Schwarzbach valley we reach the Obere Gemmi which brings us to a steep descent. Passing by impressive farms where water buffaloes and other animals live, the path leads to the river Emme, which we cross. The village of Schangnau lies close by, but your gaze is drawn repeatedly to the commanding Hohgant’s north face. We have arrived in the Emmental.

Please take note

After the Ober Gemmi there is a steep descent towards Mühlebrücke. Although the route passes along roads, sturdy shoes are essential!
