The tour begins leisurely along the hiking trail from Les Prés-d'Orvin to Métairie de Prêles. It then heads directly northwest towards Clédar de Pierrefeu, a prominent point on the Chasseral ridge. Along this ridge, the destination cannot be missed. All the more so when the 120m-high, lighthouse-like telecommunications antenna looms into view. At 1607 metres, the Chasseral is the highest peak in the Swiss Jura. On the one hand (in the south) it offers visitors a panorama of the entire Alpine chain from Säntis to Mt. Blanc, and on the other (in the north) a view from the Jura to Alsace. The descent to Nods is largely via the old ski slope.
