Gstaad's local mountain, the Wispile, is not only attractive with its beautiful slopes and panoramic views. It also offers an ideal toboggan run with the SNOOC (snowshoe sledge) to Gsteig, which is protected by its country of origin.

The gondola lift takes you from the traffic-free chalet village of Gstaad comfortably up to the Wispile mountain station. Before the fast ride on skids starts, the sledge has to be pulled about 40 minutes to the start. The easy hike leads along a beautiful panoramic path along the ridge. As "compensation" an impressive view of the Spitzhorn, a fore peak of the Wildhorn, beckons. At the Chrinetritt it starts immediately. The upper part of the trail, which is also used by winter hikers, is definitely not for the fainthearted. The descent starts immediately steep and fast, one gets really speedy and has to watch out for the narrow curves. This part of the route is rightly advertised for "adventure and adventure sledgers". The lower part is a little less steep. Along different forest sections, the downhill run, which takes about an hour to calculate, winds over mostly open fields. From the end of the toboggan run it is only a few minutes' walk to Gsteig. From here the post bus takes you back to the Wispile valley station.
