From the mountain station of Bettmeralp cable car, set off eastwards until you reach the Schönbiel or Wurzenbord chairlifts. One of the two lifts is open during the summer months and takes you to the starting point of the themed trail. The Marmot Trail begins directly at the top station of the Schönbiel chairlift and leads you down to Lake Bettmersee. Four information stations on this easy hike furnish you with interesting facts about marmots. There’s a good chance you’ll be able to observe the shy animals at play.
Important: Please find out in advance which of the two chairlifts – Schönbiel or Wurzenbord – is in operation during your stay.
Author’s recommendation
There’s a family barbecue area by the lake. Enjoy a barbecue together as the perfect end to an exciting family hike.
