2-day Round Tour in Canton of Uri, Jakobiger - Leutschachhütte - Wichelhorn

This 2-day tour includes trail levels from T3-T4 and partially alpine trails. The starting point is at Arnisee, which you can reach with a cable car (recommended to skip the “boring part”☺️). The cable car station has a free parking lot, where you can leave your car. You then follow the red marked trail up to Sunniggrathütte - a cute cabin, try the cakes and Chai Latte if you can. From there you follow the red trail to Leutschachhütte - alternatively, if you have the experience, take the blue alpine route across the mountain ridges including Jakobiner peak. An easier version is to get to the peak after you reached Leutschachhütte (as I indicated in the map). I personally had very bad weather conditions and headed back to Leutschachhütte before I could reach the Jakobiger peak. I stayed at the cabin and the next day I continued the alpine trail from Leutschachhütte to Wichelpass. You might cross snow fields, even in Summer, but the hike up to the pass is doable (a ladder and some rope expect to at the top). From the you have the option to climb the peak of Wichelhorn, but this trail is not marked anymore (some old markings are still visible, but don’t rely too much on them). Enjoy the peak and then turn around to follow the descent along some lonely lakes and a beautiful creek until you reach Arnisee again. Tip: you can find edible wild blueberries around this area and around the trails. 😋
