This longer and physically demanding tour starts at Oensingen railway station and leads us from the southern foot of the Jura up the flank of the Roggen through woodland until we round the Roggenflue and come across the first mountain restaurant at the Oensinger Roggen. This is the main ascent of the day. After a few kilometres, the view opens up to Holderbank and Langenbruck with the top of the Oberer Hauenstein pass. Shortly afterwards we reach the "Höchi Flue", on the northern flank of which we then reach the Santelhöchi. Now the next kilometres are about 200Hm downhill, an opportunity to shake out the legs a bit, then we go up again to the Belchenflue, which we actually leave on the left on our way. However, if the visibility is good, we should definitely plan the detour to the lookout tower.
After the Belchenflue, it's a brisk descent on an old military road to the General Wille Haus, from where we cross over to the Homberg on a ridge. As the Spittelberg area is also a military training ground, this section may be partially closed during shooting operations. Now it's not far to Homberglücke, where the view of the Mittelland opens up again. In a racy descent we reach Wangen bei Olten, then it's back to Oensingen across the plains between Jura-Südfuss and the Aare, now for a change with practically no climbs. A tour for which you should plan a full day.
