Pas de Lona
Mountain Bike
· Valais
A varied and demanding bike tour with exceptional landscapes and views of the Valais mountains.
difficult
Distance 59.7 km
Those who like tours in lonely areas and like to be above 2500 m.ü.m. are in exactly the right place.
There are 2735 metres of altitude to be climbed, although with variant A (post bus) and variant C the altitude can still be reduced to 1500 metres.
After the first steep climb up the Pas de Lona, the route continues in a steady up and down, before it gets really steep again up to the Col du Cou. Here, however, the exertions are not yet over. The quite steep ascent to Alp Orzival and a few subsequent short push sections await. It drags on until you get back to the starting point in Grimentz.
Author’s recommendation
- Between La Combe and Le Pichioc several pushing sections, total approx. 20 minutes.
- At Orzival several short sliding sections, total approx. 5 minutes.
