Neuchâtel Bike no 56 (Neuchâtel-Dombresson)
From Neuchâtel station we first ride flat for a while along Lake Neuchâtel and then along the Canal de la Thielle almost to Lake Biel. The well-preserved old town centre of Le Landeron is our first cultural highlight. A second awaits us shortly afterwards with the Château de Cressier. Then comes the sporty part of the tour with the ascent to Chaumont, first through a few vineyards, then along a long ramp near La Grande Côte.
The area around the cable car station offers a magnificent view over the Mittelland to the Alps in good weather. The route then descends racy on forest paths and trails around the Chaumont into the Val de Ruz, which we reach at Fenin. The rest of the way to Dombresson is a leisurely ride along the south-eastern edge of the forest with varied views into the Val de Ruz.
