Neuchâtel Bike no 56 (Dombresson-La Chaux-de-Fonds)

After Dombresson or Villiers, the climb soon begins, leading us steadily upwards towards Vue des Alpes. Along the heights of Les Planches, the route continues on well-maintained paths through forests and over Jura pastures to Pied du Mont d Amin, followed for about one kilometre by an entertaining trail along the edge of the forest over hill and dale to Prés Battereau. On the flank of the Montagne de Chézard, the route drops again slightly before we reach the Vue des Alpes pass via Montagne de Cernier - refreshments and a view are in order. The section to the hotel at the foot of the Tête de Ran and the subsequent descent towards La Sagne are among the highlights of the day. At the aforementioned hotel we reach the highest point of the day, which again offers us an incredible view. At L Abbaye, we cross the lowest part of the Höhe Communal de La Sagne over into the valley Grandes Crosettes, through which we finally reach the watch capital La Chaux-de-Fonds.
