La Gaudine

This tour takes us from Biel past the "end of the world" at the Federal Gymnastics and Sports School in Magglingen. We continue through the valley near Jorat up to the western foothills of the Chasseral and on the 6-kilometre-long ridge trail of this foothill above the forest "La Gaudine" to the rocky ledge "Les Roches". We first ride along it above, and then see it even better from below, before we cross the Jorat valley near Orvin. This descent from La Gaudine to Orvin is entertaining and partly technically tricky, so worthwhile. A few metres further down, after the hairpin bend east of "Les Roches", you are rewarded with a wonderful view into the gorge of the Suze.
After Orvin, we come a second time to the gorge of the Suze, which is called "Taubeloch-Schlucht" here in the lower part. When the gorge opens up to the Mittelland, Biel is already at our feet and we ride through the agglomeration back to the station.
