Höchi Flue - Belchenflue - Hornflue
While the road traffic on the A2 passes through the Belchen tunnel, we enjoy a treat directly above it in the border region of the Solothurn and Basel Canton Jura. On the Höchi Flue and Belchenflue we enjoy the distant view of the Mittelland and the Alps on a clear day. However, we have to leave our bikes at Belchenflue and climb the last few metres up the stairs to the vantage point. Flue is the name given to the mountain ridges often found in the Jura, which rise gently on one side and break off steeply and rockily on the other.
In a short time we move away from the busy Mittelland into lonely Jura valleys and windy Jura hills, an entertaining but also energy-sapping up and down. It is worth having enough drinks and food with you, as there is only one mountain restaurant on the Allerheiligenberg (östlichlich).
Note(s)
