Start
Turn-by-turn directions
The tour starts by the tourist office in Fiesch. From there, ride along Furkastrasse towards Lax, turn left by the tennis court at the end of the village and cross the Rhone bridge by the power station. After a short distance across country you'll reach Binntalstrasse, which you should follow uphill to Ernen and onwards to the Binn Valley tunnel. Pass by the tunnel on the right, taking the dirt track through the Twingi Gorge. At the end of the gorge you'll pass the hamlet of Ze Binne, situated by a small reservoir and well worth a quick tour. At this point the route rejoins Binntalstrasse and will soon lead you to Binn, a small mountain village known like the whole valley for its abundance of minerals. After crossing the Roman bridge, continue your journey into the valley towards Imfeld, where the beautiful village centre with its Valais houses and the Bärgkristall restaurant are inviting places to rest. The route then continues uphill along a dirt track to Schinerewysse, the highest point on the tour (2,215 m). The magnificent view of the impressive mountain scenery is your reward for the hard but manageable ascent you've just overcome. If you're anticipating a rapid descent, you won't be disappointed as you cross the beautiful landscape of Freichi on the way back to Imfeld and Binn. Once again you'll pass the wild and romantic Twingi Gorge on the ride down Binntalstrasse to Ernen. As an alternative to the section to the Rhone bridge, you can now follow the track through the Ernerfeld. Cross the Rhone bridge and ride along Furkastrasse back to Fiesch.
