Chasseral V
As far as Twann or the Twannbach gorge, the trail follows the slope along Lake Biel to Lamboing with little ascent. The route is flat again through the Diesse plain, but at Nods the steady ascent begins to the Chasseral Hotel. Here you can have a bite to eat and enjoy the unique view from the highest peak in the Jura.
The highlight is the 17-kilometre-long Jura ridge, with unobstructed views to the north and south. At the beginning, you largely stay on the high ground and only go a good 400 metres up the valley. From the Taubeloch gorge, the ridge ride is over and the last 700 metres to Frinvillier are steeply downhill. Here you need to concentrate hard and maybe even have the courage to descend and take a break. From Frinvillier, you can actually get directly to Biel through the Taubeloch Gorge, but if you manage the last, relatively short climb to Evilard, you will then ride on single trails almost to the Biel railway station.
