The walk around Ober- and Nidermattgraben also offers an interesting insight into the different vegetation status, as the valley floor and the high ground, the shady and the sunny side are close together. In the countryside, one can expect a one-day delay in plant growth for every 25 m difference in altitude and a two to three-week delay between the sunny and shady sides. Outside the settlements little hard surface.

From Signau station into Dorfstrasse and past the Bären inn towards the slope. Above the village, the view immediately opens up to the Emmental hills and the mountain giants of the Bernese Oberland. Below on the right is Schüpbach with its impressive Emme bridge (said to be the oldest in the Emmental). The path leads through the forest, briefly crossing the Strässchen, to the Untern and Obern Rainsberg. The views of Churzenberg and Chapf are now magnificent. From the plateau of the Rainsberg, rewarding distant views of the Bernese Alps, the Emmental hills, the Stockhorn chain and across the Entlebuch towards Pilatus. Continue on a fairly level path to Ofeneggalp (to Moosegg/Waldhäusern 35 min). If the further ascent to Blasenflue is too arduous for you, it is better to take the shady, well-laid-out hike at Hundschüpfen to reach Moosegg.
&Uml;ber die sliche Rippe steigt, teils am Waldsaum, teils im Wald, zum Aussichtspunkt Blasenflue auf. The whole area is Molasse landscape with Nagelfluh, especially on the southern half. There is mainly coniferous forest, while the northern part has more mixed forest. Humps, steeply sloping slopes, humus-poor harrows, erosion incisions and shaded areas are covered with forest. The bench at the edge of the Blasenflue (to Chäneltal-Zäziwil 1h30, to Blasen-Habicht-Arnisäge 1h15) invites you to linger, as it offers a magnificent view of the Napfbergland, Langnau and the Oberemmental. Initially quite pleasant ünglich over the wide forest ridge, then steep über the wooded rib down to the road on the Moosegg. until you reach the Kurhaus Waldhäusern in the most beautiful vantage point: in front of the Alpine chain from the Wetterhorn to the Altels stretch the chains of the Schrattenflue, the Hohgant, the Sieben Hengste and the Sigriswilgrat. On the right the Niesen, in the foreground the valley of the Emme. At the bend in the road, turn right along the edge of the forest and follow the almost level path to the path spider on the Egguriedegg (after Emmenmatt 45 min). In the forest steeply downhill, then über a free Egg and through the partly open, partly wooded ditch flank down into the Nidermattgraben. At the Nidermatt huts, you enter the Emme valley floor and follow it back to Signau.
