The hiking trail starts on Fiescheralp, near the cable car mountain station. Follow the sign “Märjela, Gletscherstube” as far as the Tälligrat Tunnel. Take the illuminated Tälligrat Tunnel (1km) into the Märjela valley. Halfway up to the Gletscherstube mountain hut, turn left and continue on the mountain path that leads to Lake Märjelensee and the edge of the glacier. The return route to Fiescheralp is likewise through the Tälligrat Tunnel.

Author’s recommendation

Feel like scaling a peak? At the beginning of the hike, make a brief detour to the summit of Mount Eggishorn (2,926m)!
