You leave the old town of Solothurn, cross the Aare and then cycle left along the river bank until a little later route no. 44 "Le Jorat - Trois Lacs - Emme" leads off to the right in the direction of Burgdorf. Via Gerlafingen and Utzenstorf, following the Emme for the most part, you reach the picture-perfect town of Burgdorf. Here you have already covered almost half the kilometres. Then follow the Herzroute No. 99. through the lonely realm of the Emmental to Bächi, where instead of continuing on the Herzroute you keep to the right and reach Ostermundigen via Utzigen. From Ostermundigen follow route no. 37 "Bern-Süd-Route" to Bern's old town. Once you are in the old town, turn left into Kramgasse - later becomes Gerechtigkeitsgasse - towards Bärenpark and you will arrive directly at the Hotel Belle Epoque.

Public transport
Travel by train to Solothurn, from there it's about an 8-minute walk to Hotel La Couronne, which is right next to the great St-Ursen Cathedral.
