Welcome to Switzerland's largest vegetable garden! From the beginning of May until mid-October, you can discover over 60 varieties of vegetables growing in the region. Interpretive panels are dotted along the route, providing a wealth of additional information. Two routes are possible, each of which boasts special points of interests which are flagged with interpretive panels. There are two possible routes: 24 km and 40 km. Start on the Vegetable Path from Kerzers train station, where you can rent bikes. Ideally, you should follow the trail in a clockwise direction, though this is not strictly necessary. If you would like to discover the Vegetable Path on foot, the shorter route (Alternative A) is recommended. Thanks to the train stations along the route, you can choose how far you want to walk. The trail is ideal for a family outing.

From Kerzers, head towards Fräschels. Between Kerzers and Fräschels is Papiliorama Swiss Tropical Garden, a visit to which can be ideally combined with the Vegetable Path trail (either from Fräschels or Kerzers). Then continue along the path towards Finsterhennen. A good stop-off point is the small lake of Siselenweiher, where you might be able to spot beaver tracks. Continue on to Treiten and Müntschemier (train service). You can shorten the trail by taking the green route towards Kerzers. From Müntschemier the road heads towards Ins (train service). Between Ins and Sugiez, you will cross the La Broye canal, where you will come upon the highly original wooden Rotary Bridge, which was built for the Swiss National Exhibition, Expo.02. In Sugiez, why do not make a small detour to Lake Morat, and even go for a refreshing dip? Continue on towards Galmiz, where the only truly steep climb towards Ried begins. You will be royally rewarded by the view of the Grosse Moos (large marsh plain between the lakes of Neuchâtel and Biel). From Ried continue on towards Agriswil. A quick downhill stretch will take you to Kerzers, where you began the bike trail.
