Distance 221.3 km
High above Lake Geneva, we slowly slip away from the perpetual sparkle and play of colours of the huge expanse of water at our backs and approach the Gruyère region, one of Switzerland's famous cheese strongholds. Via Lakes Thun and Brienz, we cross the Brünig Pass to Lake Lungern and Lake Sarnen and finally to Sarnen, the capital of Canton Obwalden.
Note(s)
The crossing at Saanenmöser and the Brünig Pass are busy cantonal roads!
Tour can also be done in the opposite direction (Rorschach-Montreux: 4200 hm).
