Do you enjoy powder skiing and would like to practise it in safe terrain?
On the Freeride Learnline you will receive important information about freeriding and can put this into practice on site. The aim: to be safe and have fun in deep snow.
The Freeride Learnline is located on the yellow marked off-piste slope no. 14, which is secured by Davos Klosters Bergbahnen when open. This means that the focus can be on practising and learning during the descents.
The marked off-piste "Jakobshorn Teufi" starts at the Güggelbahn mountain station and ends at the Teufi in the Dischma valley. There are 8 posts along the route, which you can work out on the descent. The signs ask essential questions that you should ask yourself when skiing in potential avalanche terrain. By scanning the QR code with your own smartphone, you can see the answers and information, which can be actively practised and implemented in the terrain.
The posts for freeriders were developed as part of a master's thesis at the Lucerne University of Teacher Education.
Author’s recommendation
Post 3 offers the opportunity to assess your skills and then choose between the off-piste and the groomed piste. Important for all: When skiing off-piste, it is mandatory to carry the appropriate equipment with avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and, if necessary, airbag backpack.
