Weissmies hut
The Weissmies hut is a visit worthwhile in summer as well as in winter. In addition to its function as an SAC hut, it is also known for its large terrace and good food.
Take-Away!
The SAC hut above the Kreuzboden, halfway to Hohsaas, is a good starting point for many alpine and climbing tours in the surrounding mountains. Highlights include the via ferrata Jegihorn and the Weissmies.
The "old hut" (which still exists today) was built in 1894 as the Weissmies mountain hotel. In 1924 the hut was bought by the SAC Olten and converted into an SAC hut. On 8 June 1959, work started on the "new hut", which was ceremoniously inaugurated on 16 July 1961. In 1989/90, an extension was built with toilets, a washroom and an additional dining room.
The Weissmies hut is also reachable by ski in winter and is open as a restaurant with overnight accommodation.
